Nigeria’s Sanni Issa scored the winning penalty as Auckland City beat Cruz Azul to become first Oceanian side to win a medal at the FIFA Club World Cup.
In a play-off for third place, the 90 minutes ended in a 1-1 draw but the champions of Oceania were able to keep their cool heads in the penalty shootouts and defeated Mexico’s Cruz Azul 4-2 on penalties .
